Party at my house, December 21st, 2012! Save the date!
That’s right everyone. I’m inviting you all to a very special party at my house. There will be DJs, a dancefloor, drinks, and then of course the end of the world.
For those of you who didn’t know, the Mayans long ago predicted that the end of the world, most likely a global cataclysm, will occur on the day of December 21, 2012.
No one knows what exactly is supposed to happen, or if it’s the end of humanity. It is just speculation that the earth will respond in destruction on this day.
That gives us just over 4 years to enjoy the Earth as we know it, so mark your calendars and RSVP, we’re gonna go out with a bang!

Sounds great! But where is the party going to be – I’m in Illinois are you anywhere near there? I’m having my own 2012 party, but we could combine them?
I’m researching 2012 and it seems something IS going to happen, but exactly what is pure speculation. I do believe though that it will become clearer over the next four years!!!

That sounds like my kind of party! Even though I don’t believe that the world is saving that date to end, it’s still so creepy to think about.

Well, I’ll be there! After all, if you’re going down might as well do it in style. The scary thing aboout that is how accurate the Myans have been with everything esle. However, with the slight change in the Earth’s rotation their dates have been the slightest bit off- which makes me think that if it’s a comet, we might get offf easy. . . or get hit especially hard.

I just wish if any of the end of world predictions would come true, they would happen before my papers are written or the date of the class final.

I already went through this in 1996. Nothing happened and all my papers were still due. Seriously, now, what if the Mayans were so freaked out by what they thought was going to happen in 2012 that that was the reason their civilization disappeared? They knew it was going to be so awful that in order to be sure they weren’t around for it, they said, “Suck it, monkeys!” and made a sneaky French Exit 1500 years early!

Although the party does sound tempting, i have heard this end of the world predictions so many times that i find it hard to believe that the Mayans got it right. It’s fun to believe the world will end in 4 years but the truth is i don’t see it happening for a very long time.

This topic has been going on for ages..it is creepy to think about! you really never know when your end is coming; i like that you take it in stride and are sarcastic about; i guess it alleviates the thought!
